We already know hashtags are a great way to find and share photos on Instagram, twitter, and even Flickr. I regularly update a post titled “Copy and Paste these Instagram Top Hashtags” in which I take the Top 15 generic use Instagram Hashtags so that you can  easily reference them you’re your mobile phones and copy and paste them into Instagram. Recently BBerg1010 (BBerg1010’s Comment) asked me to post the meanings of these hashtags in future updates; I agreed with her that this would be a great idea and so here we go.

Oh and if you would like to know what a hashtag is, may I refer you to this definition:

Hashtags are words or phrases prefixed with the symbol #, a form of metadata tag. Also, short messages on microblogging social networking services such as Twitter, identi.ca or Google+ may be tagged by including one or more with multiple words concatenated, e.g.:

#Wikipedia is an #encyclopedia

Searching for the string #Wikipedia will cause this word to appear in the search engine results. Such tags are case-insensitive, with CamelCase often used for readability. –Wikipedia

In simple terms, it makes searching for specific topics or images very easy. If you wanted to search for pictures of Dogs on Instagram you could just use the new Explore button and search #dog or #puppy and find hashtagged pictures of dogs and puppies.
